Description
Lecapitaine's coachbuilder business began in the 1930s in Saint-Lô. In response to local needs generated by dairy farming and products, the Lecapitaine cattle-truck soon took shape, evolving into trucks with insulated box bodies which, with the introduction of refrigeration units, became refrigerated bodywork.
In 2000 Lecapitaine joined forces with the Petit Forestier Group, European leader in refrigerated vehicle rental, and so shifted up to factory production, moving sites to the Neptune industrial complex.
With a 14 hectare site and annual production capacity of up to 5 500 vehicles, Lecapitaine now designs refrigerated bodies, as one-offs or for the production line, that incorporate the latest technologies.
