Description
Wiegel is a company from The Hague founded in 1926 as Auto Electric Company NV Piet Wiegel. In the then rapidly growing market for automotive materials, in addition to the in-house production of accumulators and the winding of alternators and starter motors, we also acted as importers / wholesalers in lamps, switches and all electrical materials necessary for bodywork and general repair. The company withstood crisis and war, and came to flourish in the post-war years, but due to lack of proper succession, the late 1980s were not easy.
At the beginning of the 1990s, the company became part of the Stokvis holding, which gave the most necessary new decisiveness in the company. In addition to the autoelektra activities, a number of importerships were acquired, as the most appealing that of the Fa. Warn, where later others like Sepson, Penny, Federal Signal, Lodar, AMRE and Mouvex were added.
With a move to Voorhout at the end of the 90's, the company's time in The Hague came to an end, and the focus was shifted further to the import of winches and equipment for the off-road and commercial vehicle market and the development and construction of systems and products for the professional vehicle market.
With its own branches and partners in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, but also in Central Europe, Wiegel is active in the markets for vehicle-maritime and power transmission, and is a solid and reliable partner with vision for all its customers.
