1958
Description
The beginning was in 1958 in Iatai Street in the neighborhood of Casa Verde in São Paulo. At that time SUPRENS was known as CRON, a name that came from the capitulate names of company founders: Caesar, Rose, Orlando and Nilson Curtolo.
The SUPRENS name appeared on August 5, 1966, derived from the words super press,
SUper PRENsa in portuguese.
At the time of founding the Brazilian automobile industry worked almost exclusively as assembly line; vehicles were produced in foreign countries, and were only assembled here.
Hence the need for auxiliary parts.
The first production line began with a product that is among us until today which is PRESIL clamp and as following came MICRO line.
The volume produced then - whitch few people thinking about - was abou 3 to 4 thousand pieces/month. This production were manufactured by a really rudimentary artisanal processes already excelled by a factor brought up today: THE QUALITY.
The main customers were companies like Vemag, Scania Vabis and Massey Harrys. The Vemag consumed almost the entire PRESIL clamps production and the CONTRA-PINO also other line created at the time.
Gradually the production line was diversifying. Then in 1962 came the wire clamps, FLEXIL in 1963, MICRO in 1965, and a range of other related products as the hood hinge, locking plate, grid mounting bracket and etc. See in this timeline sequence bellow other products created over the years
